Mock Printz List

I thought this would be a fun link to post. The fine folks at BCCLS (Bergen County Cooperative Library System in Hackensack, New Jersey) compiled this from reviews.

BCCLS choices for Printz.... so far.

We here at OOPS have reviewed:

Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
Book of a Thousand Days
Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows (well, not really a review)

I know my fine co-bloggers and I have read more titles on that list, so maybe we should share in the comments?

Hmmm...

I really liked Cures For Heartbreak - Margo Rabb, Red Glass - Laura Resau, Shark Girl - Kelly Bingham. Those are some I'd like to see nominated. I think Sherman Alexie might get a double nomination this year, I'm trying to think of what I've read that might get nominated even if it wasn't a favorite and I'm drawing a blank. I'll get back to you!

Since I don't seem to have time to do actual write-ups for our beloved blog. I will copy my maniacal notes on the few books I've read. I'm sure you can look up book descriptions yourselves. :)

The White Darkness by Geraldine McCaughrean

Wow! This book was something, something else! It actually had me fooled that it might be a fantasy!!!! [Cut to maniacal laughter] Wow was that some story of madness, murder, what it means to love and what keeps life worth living, and most of all Antarctica. I'm so glad I've seen March of the Penguins… but this makes me want to read even more! Plot, characterization, setting, a supreme work, really!!!!!!!! It gets my vote if it doesn't go over the heads of our readers.

AND

The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt

AUDIO. My first thoughts of this book were not altogether positive- not ANOTHER historical fiction! And I was really not fond of his last Lone Star book- First Boy, but slowly and surely the book won me over. I love his teacher, his sister, his girlfriend, his bestfriend, everyone! Well except for his jack ass of a father and his weakling of a mother. A very special story. A definite winner in my book. Put this on the list!!!!!!!!

I think Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac could get some award buzz.
